This marks the 10th year that I have been participating in fundraising events for Cystic Fibrosis, so it seems fitting that this is also the 25th Anniversary of Pittsburgh's 50 Finest. We have been fortunate as a family to see what the hard work and research of the CF Foundation can do. As a result of the their research Kalydeco was developed, and has allowed my nephew Ryan to lead a life full of friends and athletics. Unfortunately, this drug only works for a small percentage of the population that is impacted by CF. So I am joining the fight to raise money so that there is a cure for everyone with CF.
Thank-you for joining me on this journey over the next 6 months as we raise money, have some fun, and work together to help to turn CF into Cure Found.
More about Pittsburgh's 50 Finest:
In the past 25 years, Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest has grown to raise over $500,000 annually and continues to hold the title of the #1 Finest program in the country! Thanks to my fellow Finest Alumni, the CF Foundation has also made significant progress in the fight against cystic fibrosis – today, there are THREE FDA-approved therapies available that treat the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis for up to 90% of people living with this disease!
To help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research, I have accepted the challenge to, once again, raise funds to help the CF Foundation find a cure for ALL people with CF!
I invite you to please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively to help support vital CF research, medical and education programs.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the Donate button on this page and your donation will be credited directly to my fundraising efforts. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated!
Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is about 40. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day, so we will not rest until "CF" stands for "Cure Found."
