Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Finding a cure is a cause near and dear to my heart. Something you might not know about me – my uncle is a world-renowned CF researcher, something he became passionate about after his daughter was diagnosed with CF.
Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is about 40. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day, so we will not rest until "CF" stands for "Cure Found."
To help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research, I’ve accepted the challenge to raise funds to help the CF Foundation find a cure for ALL people with CF!
In the past 25 years, Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest has grown to raise over $500,000 annually and continues to hold the title of the #1 Finest program in the country! Thanks to my fellow Finest Alumni, the CF Foundation has also made significant progress in the fight against cystic fibrosis – today, there are THREE FDA-approved therapies available that treat the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis for up to 90% of people living with this disease!
Help me meet my fundraising goal! Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively to help support vital CF research, medical and education programs.
There will also be a gala this fall! I’d love for you to join me at this highly anticipated black tie event to celebrate everyone’s fundraising success. More details to come soon!
