Hello! I'm Peter - a Richmond native/enthusiast and 2023 honoree of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which has the mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF). Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of the Foundation's hard work in supporting research, education, and care, the median survival age of people with CF is now 40. This is remarkable progress, but there is still a long away to go in extending that age further, and eventually finding a cure for CF. We are at mile 20 of this marathon, and we need your help finishing the race! There are several ways you can do that.
First, the quickest and easiest way is to make a donation below. Just click the Donate button on this page to make a contribution that will be credited to my fundraising efforts. The Foundation, and those suffering from CF, appreciate any amount that you can give!
Second, you can purchase tickets below to this summer's Brewer's Ball where I, along with other honorees, will celebrate our fundraising efforts. The Brewer's Ball will be held on June 8 at the Science Museum. It's a date Richmonders save on the calendar every year - be sure to introduce yourself to me if you can make it.
Third, I will be hosting local bands at a live concert at The Camel, a music venue on Richmond's Broad Street, on April 1 from 3-7pm. You can purchase tickets at The Camel's website, and all ticket proceeds will go to the Foundation. Come for a drink and to soak in the tunes!
Finally, stay tuned on this page and my Instagram, @askinforlikes, for more fundraising drives and events, which I will drop throughout the Spring.
