I will soon be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event on September 15th that recognizes outstanding young professionals in my community. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help the Foundation realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF).
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by donating. Your generous gift (however big or small) will be used efficiently and effectively to help support vital CF research, medical and education programs which are making a huge impact in the lives of those living with this illness.
Who am I & why do I care?
I’m Noah McDonald, an Associate Financial Rep. with Farley Financial Associates (Northwestern Mutual) and a friend to all. Growing up in Rochester, NY I had two friends with CF so you could say I was aware of the illness sooner than most. Also, upon further research I learned of a history of CF within my family that has caused the death of two cousins.
This is all tragic and critically significant to me, but the primary driving force behind my involvement in the CF foundation is even more direct than connections to this terrible disease. Quite simply, it’s that I can make a difference. We can make a difference in the pursuit of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis.
CF is a rare disease (~30,000 people in the U.S.A.) and as such it receives less funding for research than more common diseases such as cancer or heart disease. This fact, and the knowledge that we are making huge strides towards controlling and curing CF is why every dollar matters. Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is about 40. This is outstanding progress but not good enough as we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day.

Thank you for supporting my efforts to make a difference and thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation!
