Moving and Shaking - Fundraising for CFF
Becky Santiago
Becky Santiago
Hello and welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Becky and I am on a mission to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), a non-profit incredibly important to me. CFF supports individuals with CF and families of those with CF in numerous ways such as providing support communities, educational tools, and more. Most notably, over the last three decades, research led by the organization has produced breakthrough medicines and treatments that have helped improve the life expectancy of individuals with CF by over 20 years! It’s truly amazing and I am proud to be a supporter of the organization.
My ties to CF are through our close family friends, Gabby and Madi Ives, who both have CF. In 2017, Gabby tragically lost her battle to CF and passed away at only 19 years old. I still have a hard time finding the words to describe the immense gap left in my world since her passing. I know others who knew her have the same feeling. Gabby had such a presence – she was a feisty and charismatic individual who could make just about anyone laugh.
I’m happy to report that Madi is healthy and happy and living her best life traveling around the US for work and play. She also recently moved to Atlanta to be with her boyfriend, Jordan. Since college, she has become an avid outdoor enthusiast and loves spending time with her family. Last year she ran the Chicago Marathon and raised over $20,000 for CF! Long and short of it, she’s killin’ it.
I raise funds for CFF for Madi, so she can keep killin’ it; for Gabby, who will always be in our hearts; for their sister Ali, and for their parents, Sarah and RV, who demonstrate incredible strength, support for one another, and endless love.
Please join me and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in our effort to find a cure by donating using the buttons to the right. If you live in Phoenix, Arizona, there is also an upcoming CF event on June 9th at 6:00 pm - there will be music, a silent auction, an open bar, and more. If you are interested and able to attend, tickets sold through my page also go to my fundraising goal. Come join me and meet some of the awesome Phoenix CF community if you can!
Your support and generosity will be beyond appreciated by me and by all those in CF community.
Sincerely,
Becky
