I am honored to represent the cystic fibrosis community and join hundreds of others to end the devastating effects of CF by raising awareness and donations. This year’s efforts will culminate on October 5th, 2019, at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Purple Tie Ball, where we will celebrate the success that each of you will make possible. By making a donation on my campaign, you are funding critical research and local services for those affected by this deadly disease that (for now!) is incurable.

As indicated, I have a personal stake in this particular event. My dearest friends have a 2yr old daughter with cystic fibrosis. As a witness to the challenges that Molly and her family face so bravely, not only do I want to help my friends and our little “Biggie Molls,” but also the many others battling CF.

Cystic fibrosis is a terminal, genetic disease that compromises the lungs and digestive system. Common symptoms include, wheezing, shortness of breath, repeated lung infections, poor growth, low body weight, and a persistent cough with thick phlegm. For those with CF, many of the simple activities we enjoy, such as exercising, can be extremely taxing or impossible.

Advances toward a cure are made every day, and your help is needed now to keep up the momentum of this life-saving research. Sixty years ago, children with CF typically did not live long enough to attend kindergarten. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age has risen to 40. That is an improvement of 7 months of life for CF patients with each year of research! This is remarkable & promising progress but is not good enough. We lose precious lives to CF every day. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit cff.org. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis.

My goal is to raise $50,000 this year. This is less than $67 for each of the 750 Hoosiers – including Molly – with cystic fibrosis. Please help me reach that goal with your generous pledge. Every, single, small amount matters. You may support my cause by purchasing event tickets, event tables, sponsorships, or with simple gifts. Your donation is tax deductible, and, in many cases, can be matched by your employers, doubling your impact.

Please contact me at smullen79@hotmail.com if you have any questions regarding donations or sponsorships. If writing a check please print my name in the memo line and make payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Otherwise, you may use the donation link provided. All donations will flow directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Molly and I sincerely appreciate your support. Following the Purple Tie Ball, I will send a recap of the event and of the impact you have made for those fighting cystic fibrosis!

2 more days! We're all so excited and grateful for your support! xoxo

12 days left to go team! Thank you so much for everyone's support so far! Incredibly grateful. We had a very successful event at Kendra Scott on Aug 17th. Over $5k was raised in revenue during our 4hr time slot which means, over $1k raised for CF! Up next, our Road to the Purple Tie Ball event this Thursday. All donations made (via cash, check or venmo) that evening will be matched 100%. We're so excited and cannot wait to host our family and friends! Cheers - Shawna

We are working on two exciting events for this summer! One will be with Kendra Scott (Yay, fun jewelry!) and the other will be an awesome date night with Trivia! Once all details are set I will keep you updated. THANK YOU again for everyone's continued support! We are so incredibly grateful. xoxox - Shawna

Molly is hoping to come home tomorrow after being at Riley hospital for a week. She has had lots of tests, procedures, and treatments to kick the most recent infection. *Note* This is a picture from a year ago during another hospital stay.

Molly and her big sister, Norah keeping safe from germs and being super cute on their way to Florida for their family Spring break. This was Molly's first plane trip and all went excellent! :)
