Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation! By supporting my fundraising efforts, you have an opportunity in your lifetime to be part of ending this disease. Please consider joining us and help make medical history!
The CF Foundation has been an integral part of supporting research and care in the CF community. It is because of these efforts that those affected with CF have seen survival ages go from <5 years to now over 50. Advances in research and treatment have seen astonishing growth, but many people with CF still are not able to benefit from existing therapies. Thus, the effort continues.
My personal connection with CF, through a friend diagnosed nearly 17 years ago, has brought me into this space, and my career in research allows me to stay in this community and further advocate for such an important cause. It's because of donations like yours that helps scientists like me put forth our best resources and efforts as well as allow the Foundation to provide a community and care for CF individuals.
CF is caused by >300 known variaions in the CFTR gene, and every one is different, which is why we still fight today. Check out this article in Nature to see exactly how far CF has come since it's discovery.
