In accepting this esteemed distinction, I have taken on a personal commitment to raise funds that will directly contribute to the Foundation's mission of eradicating cystic fibrosis (CF) and providing individuals with CF the opportunity to lead extraordinary lives filled with boundless possibilities.

Cystic fibrosis affects the lives of nearly 40,000 individuals in the United States alone. This progressive, genetic condition takes a toll on the lungs, pancreas, and various organs. However, thanks to groundbreaking research and comprehensive care made possible by the CF Foundation, we have witnessed extraordinary progress. Today, the median survival age for those with CF exceeds 50 years—a stark contrast to a mere six decades ago when children rarely lived long enough to attend elementary school. Through the Foundation's unwavering support, over a dozen CF treatments have been developed, adding precious decades to the lives of individuals with CF. But our work is far from complete.
