"CF is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects 40,000 children and adults in the United States. It is primarily a lung disease caused by a defective gene that makes the body produce thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections".
 

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure CF and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives. This would not be possible without the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as it has provided funding for research leading to drug development, individualized treatment, and access to high-quality care. Although there have been many improvements with the treatments for people with CF, there is much more research and work to be done to help find a cure for this disease. 
 

I feel honored that I get to work with members of the CF community every day. I'm looking forward to supporting the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
