A Note from Kaya

Thank you so much for visiting my Top 30 Under 30 page! I am excited and grateful for both the recognition and the opportunity to make a positive difference on behalf of a Nashville philanthropy. With the help of an amazing support system, I know that I can be successful in this endeavor to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Thank you for the congratulations, words of encouragement and love that you've already extended! I appreciate it more than you know.

What's Top 30 Under 30 All About?

I will soon be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in my community. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help the Foundation realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF).

Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively to help support vital CF research, medical and education programs.

Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the Donate button on this page to make a donation that will be credited to my fundraising efforts. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated!

Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now -- more than ever -- to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research. Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is about 40. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit cff.org. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation!

A native of Conyers, Georgia, Kaya earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013 from The University of Georgia Honors Program. There, she majored in Political Science and earned a minor in Communication Studies.

Kaya has never hesitated to combine her career with her desire to better her community through active involvement in local organizations. She is currently the Chair of the Nashville Bar Association’s Diversity Committee, Recording Secretary of the Napier-Looby Bar Association, a member of the Nashville Bar Association’s Community Relations Committee, and is one of the Emerging Leaders for KIPP Nashville. Through each of these organizations and through her sorority, Kaya is afforded and takes advantage of many opportunities to positively impact people around her. Kaya especially enjoys service through political action by helping citizens understand and exercise their right to vote, and through promoting the importance of equity in public education in our country. With her warm personality, Kaya serves the Nashville community through her church as well. Since moving to Nashville after law school, Kaya has found her niche in the Nashville community. However, Kaya continues to actively seek areas where she can be more involved, give back, and make a positive and lasting difference.
