Rebecca Goodwin

I will soon be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in my community. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help the Foundation realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF).

About: Rebecca Goodwin, co-owner and office manager of Goodwin Plumbing, has resided in Middle Tennessee for the past twenty years. Born and raised in Texas, Rebecca has always had an “everything’s bigger” attitude in life. She and her husband, John, have owned and operated Goodwin Plumbing since March 2008. Their small business has received the Daily News Journal's Ruthies Award for Rutherford County's Favorite Plumbing Company all eleven years of business.

Rebecca's passion for planning and designing events led her to earn her certification in Event Planning and Bridal Consulting from Ashworth College in June 2009. Rebecca also loves to travel! As a travel agent with Minnie Van Vacations, she shares and arranges travel opportunities with her clients. In addition, Rebecca also enjoys volunteering her time with the Junior League of Murfreesboro, whose mission is to build a better community through a commitment to advocacy, leadership, multiculturalism and a commitment to children.

Rebecca first learned about cystic fibrosis in 2016 with the birth of her daughter, Madilynn. At ten days old Madilynn was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. It has been Rebecca's mission ever since to devote a helping hand and a grateful heart to raise awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). Rebecca participated in her first CFF event in 2017 as team leader for team "Be Brave for Madilynn" in the Great Strides Murfreesboro walk. Since then, she has planned and executed multiple fundraising events, as well as taken an active role as a volunteer to help expand the Great Strides Murfreesboro walk. Rebecca is very excited about being part of this year's 30 Under 30 honoree class, as it will give her a larger platform to continue raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Rebecca currently resides in Christiana, Tennessee, with her husband, John, and their daughter, Madilynn.

Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now -- more than ever -- to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research. Sixty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is about 40. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit cff.org. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation!
