333 Wishes For A Cure
In Loving Memory of Courtney
Fighting for a Cure, Honoring a Legacy, and Making a Difference
My name is Kylee, and I am incredibly proud to be raising money in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a cause that has been close to my heart for many years. This campaign is more than just a fundraiser to me. It is a promise to my best friend, Courtney, whose life was taken far too soon by cystic fibrosis.
On August 30, 2026, I lost my best friend, Courtney, at just 23 years old. Courtney was so much more than her diagnosis. She was someone who brought happiness, laughter, strength, and love into the lives of everyone who knew her. She had an incredible spirit, and despite everything she endured, she continued to leave a lasting impact on those around her.
Throughout Courtney's life, I witnessed firsthand the reality of cystic fibrosis. The countless hospital stays, difficult treatments, uncertainty, and physical and emotional challenges were things no one should ever have to experience. But I also witnessed her courage, resilience, and determination to live her life to the fullest.
Losing Courtney has forever changed my life. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish she were still here. And while I cannot change what happened to her, I can continue fighting for a future where other families, friends, and loved ones never have to experience this kind of loss.
My Commitment to the CF Community
My dedication to the cystic fibrosis community began long before Courtney's passing. Over the years, I have been involved in fundraising, spreading awareness, and advocating for a cure. I previously did a fundraiser which was Ski for a Cure, an event that brought people together in support of this incredible cause. I have seen the generosity of this community, the impact of fundraising, and the hope that research continues to bring to individuals and families affected by CF.
Now, I am taking that commitment even further.
On August 1, 2027, I am organizing a special memorial fundraising event in Marblehead, Massachusetts, in Courtney's honor. I have been reaching out to businesses, organizations, friends, family members, and supporters throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, asking them to help make this event meaningful and successful.
From writing and mailing donation requests to connecting with local businesses, organizing fundraising opportunities, and bringing our community together, I am putting my heart into making this something Courtney would be proud of.
This event is about so much more than remembering my best friend. It is about celebrating her life, honoring every person who has fought or continues to fight cystic fibrosis, supporting families who face this disease every single day, and raising funds to help make a cure possible.
Why Your Support Matters
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive genetic disease affecting nearly 40,000 people in the United States. It primarily impacts the lungs and digestive system and requires lifelong treatment and care.
Thanks to decades of research, medical advancements, and the incredible work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, people with CF are living longer than ever before. But the fight is far from over.
Some individuals still do not benefit from existing treatments, and far too many families continue to experience devastating losses.
Courtney deserved more time. Every person living with cystic fibrosis deserves that chance.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to support groundbreaking research, advancements in care, and the pursuit of a cure for every person living with this disease. The CF community is made up of extraordinary individuals, families, caregivers, medical professionals, researchers, advocates, and supporters who refuse to give up hope.
I am honored to be a small part of that community, and I will continue advocating for them and for Courtney.
How You Can Help
I am asking for your support in making this fundraising campaign and Courtney's memorial event as successful as possible.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a difference.
Whether you are an individual, a small local business, or a larger organization, there are so many meaningful ways to help:
-
Monetary donations to support the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
-
Gift cards, merchandise, products, or services that can be used for raffle baskets, prizes, or fundraising opportunities at Courtney's memorial event.
-
Business sponsorships to help support the event and its fundraising efforts.
-
In-kind gifts or event supplies to help make the memorial event possible.
-
Sharing this campaign with friends, family, employees, and others who may want to contribute.
Every donated item helps create another opportunity to raise money and bring people together for this important cause.
I understand that not everyone can make a financial contribution, and that is completely okay. Even sharing Courtney's story, spreading awareness, or offering a small gift means more than words can express.
Together, We Can Help Make a Difference
When I think about the future of cystic fibrosis research, I think about the children who deserve to grow up without the same struggles Courtney faced. I think about parents who deserve to watch their children grow older, friends who deserve more memories together, and families who deserve a future without the fear of losing someone they love to this disease.
Most importantly, I think about Courtney.
I wish more than anything that she could be here to see how many people care, how much love surrounds her memory, and how her story continues to inspire others.
I cannot give Courtney the years she deserved, but I can spend mine fighting for those who still have a chance.
Every donation, every gift, every act of kindness, and every person who joins this effort brings us one step closer to a future where cystic fibrosis no longer takes the people we love.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me, honoring Courtney, and standing beside the cystic fibrosis community. Your generosity and compassion mean more to me than I could ever express.
This is for Courtney. This is for every CF fighter. This is for every family still holding onto hope. And this is for a future where CF stands for Cure Found.
With love and gratitude,
