My Story - Kenya T. Freeman
I am being honored as one of Nashville's Top 30 Under 30, recognizing outstanding young professionals committed to making a difference. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help the Foundation cure cystic fibrosis and provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives.
The Deal That Started It All
For my seventh birthday, my dad took me to the top of the Batman Building. He told me, "If you work really, really hard and become a business lawyer, you could work in a building like this with people like me." I thought to myself, "Deal." I like to think it was the first deal I ever made.
A Personal Mission
My goal is to raise $57,000 for cystic fibrosis research. I lost my dad in 2022 when he was 57, and he remains my greatest mentor. He always told me, "If your vision doesn't scare you, then you have a tiny vision". This campaign honors his memory while working toward a cure.
My brother, Nathan, was a 2024 Top 30 Under 30 honoree; he raised over $24,000. Now it's my turn to carry that torch forward. I will add, a little sibling competition for a cause never hurt.
Why This Matters
Our vision is a cure for every person with cystic fibrosis; we will not leave anyone behind.
The Power of Nashville
If I have reached any success, my friends, family, and community are the ones to thank. Nashville's people are its richest resource, and this city has an unmatched capacity for goodness.
