I am incredibly honored to be selected as the Young STANDOUT of the Year by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This recognition celebrates a high school student who demonstrates exceptional leadership, advocacy, and commitment to raising awareness and support for those affected by cystic fibrosis (CF). 

As part of the STANDOUT program, I am joining a passionate community dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people living with CF. Through fundraising, education, and outreach, I am proud to contribute to the Foundation’s mission: to find a cure for every person with CF and ensure they can live a life free from the burden of this disease. 

One of the most meaningful ways I’ve been able to support this cause is through Drives for Drake, an annual golf tournament put on by my family. This event has raised more than $1 million to fund critical CF research and support the Foundation’s efforts. It’s a powerful reminder of how community, compassion, and action can come together to create real change. 

Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. It affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs, requiring daily treatments, medications, and constant vigilance. While incredible progress has been made—thanks to the tireless work of the CF Foundation and its supporters—many individuals still face serious challenges.  

This honor is more than a title; it’s a call to action. I am committed to raising funds and awareness to help accelerate research, expand access to therapies, and ultimately find a cure. Every donation supports the Foundation’s groundbreaking work and brings us closer to a future where CF is no longer a life-threatening condition.
