Close friends of ours in Austin have two children who were born with cystic fibrosis, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the daily treatments, routines, and challenges they must navigate just to try to live a balanced life. Their strength inspires me to help move us closer to a cure.

I am being honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding professionals in our community, and I’m proud to share that I’ve been nominated as one of Austin’s Finest. With this distinction, I’ve committed to raising a minimum of $3,000 to support the Foundation’s mission of curing cystic fibrosis and ensuring every person with CF can lead a long, fulfilling life.

Nearly 40,000 people in the United States live with cystic fibrosis, a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Just sixty years ago, children with CF rarely lived long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation‑supported research and care, the median survival age is over 50. The CF Foundation has helped develop more than a dozen treatments and added decades of life for many people with CF — but not everyone benefits from current therapies. The vision remains clear: a cure for every person with cystic fibrosis, and no one left behind.
