I'm honored to have been nominated for Austin's Finest, a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation event recognizing professionals in our community who are making a difference. In accepting this honor, I've committed to raising money to help the Foundation reach its mission: curing cystic fibrosis and giving everyone with CF the chance to live long, full lives.
 

This one hits close to home for me in a fun way. I worked as an RN before my path led me into sales — and while I don't work at the hospital anymore, moments like this remind me that nursing never really leaves you. Being able to bring that background, along with the professional skills I've built since, to an organization doing this kind of life-saving work feels like the best kind of collision between the two worlds.

Nearly 40,000 people in the United States live with cystic fibrosis — a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Sixty years ago, kids with CF often didn't live long enough to make it to elementary school. Today, thanks to Foundation-supported research and care, the median survival age is over 50. Working alongside the CF community, the Foundation has helped develop more than a dozen CF treatments and added decades of life for those living with it. But there's still work to do — many people with CF still aren't benefiting from existing therapies. Our vision is simple: a cure for every person with CF, a life free from this disease, and no one left behind.
