I’m incredibly humbled to be recognized by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as part of Austin’s Finest, a recognition that celebrates Central Texas professionals who make a difference both in their work and in their communities through dedication, innovation, and a self-starter attitude. With this honor comes a commitment to raise funds for the CF Foundation, which is working tirelessly to not only find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF) but also to give every person with CF the chance to live a full and vibrant life.

CF affects nearly 40,000 people in the U.S. It’s a progressive, genetic disease that impacts the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Just 60 years ago, many children with CF didn’t live long enough to make it to elementary school. Thanks to the incredible research and care supported by the CF Foundation, today, the average life expectancy for someone with CF is over 50. The Foundation has been instrumental in developing over a dozen treatments, extending lives, and improving quality of life. But there’s still so much to do—too many people with CF aren’t benefiting from current treatments, and we can’t stop until every single person with CF has a cure.
