I’m honored to be recognized by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event celebrating professionals making an impact in our community. Along with this recognition comes an opportunity that means so much to me, helping raise funds and awareness to support the fight against cystic fibrosis. You can support my fundraising efforts by making a donation, becoming a sponsor or purchasing a ticket to our event at L'Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge on August 21. The evening will feature great food, drinks and live music from an incredible band, the perfect excuse for a fun date night while supporting an amazing cause.

As a mom, wife and someone who deeply values community and connection, this cause truly hits close to home. Every child and family deserves the chance to live a long, healthy and fulfilling life.
 

This mission is especially meaningful to my family because my husband was previously honored by the CF Foundation. The more we’ve learned about cystic fibrosis and the families affected by it, the more passionate we’ve become about helping support research, advancements and ultimately a cure.
 

As someone who works for Ochsner Health, a healthcare system deeply involved in clinical trials, innovation and research, I’ve seen firsthand how medical breakthroughs can change lives. I love being part of an organization focused on advancing healthcare and making medical history, which is one reason supporting the CF Foundation feels so important to me.
 

Nearly 40,000 people in the United States are living with cystic fibrosis, a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas and other organs. Because of the groundbreaking work of the CF Foundation, people with CF are living longer than ever before, with the median predicted survival age now exceeding 50 years old. While that progress is incredible, there is still more work to do to ensure every person with CF has access to effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
